Finding your way here...
Continue along Christmas Creek Road until the bitumen ends and the dirt road begins.
From here, drive for approximately 6 minutes until you reach our entrance gate on the left. Look for the number 3275 on the fence.
Please open and close the gate behind you and follow the directions marked by the yellow line on the map below.
Drive through the paddock to the second gate on the right, marked with the Manderley sign. Again, please close the gate behind you.
Cross the creek via the causeway and follow the driveway as it curves around to the left past the cottage.
Continue straight up the dirt road until you reach the main house, Nevaeh.
Please drive slowly along the dirt road, taking in the scenery and watching for local wildlife. Enjoy the adventure!
House Rules
Noise
Please keep music levels down to a reasonable level after 10pm to ensure a peaceful environment for our lovely neighbours. As loud noise echoes loudly through the quiet valley, especially at night.
Dogs
Maximum of 2 approved dogs and/or service animals are permitted. No other pets allowed.
Ensure they have appropriate tick prevention treatment prior to arrival.
Do not allow dogs to jump up on the furniture or sleep on the beds.
Do not allow your dog to roam the property unsupervised.
Keep them locked up inside or tied up outside overnight.
Do not leave uneaten food in dog bowls outside as this will attract vermin.
Please clean up after your dog.
Pickup any poo from the lawn or pathways Vacuum up any excess dog hair inside.
Guests are responsible for any loss or damage caused by their pets.
Driving around the property
Keep property gates shut at all times. If you open it, please shut it behind you.
Drive slowly and safely around the property on the designated roads/tracks.
Definitely NO hooning or driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs permitted.
The tracks leading up to the ridge and down to the creek are accessible by 4WD vehicles only. (See Map).
Drive at your own risk. We will not be responsible for any accidental loss or damage to vehicles or passengers whilst driving in and around the property.
Not Permitted
NO GOLF played on the lawn.
NO PARTIES without permission.
NO SMOKING inside the house.
Do not throw lit cigarette butts into the garden or bushland. This is a fire risk, dispose properly.
Rubbish
As we do not have roadside garbage collection we ask that you please separate food scraps from your general waste to minimise any messy bad smells and recycle when possible.
Separate garbage into the designated bins and recycle where possible.
Use the kitchen compost bin for food scraps and then kindly toss the waste into the vegetable patch/garden prior to departure.
You're welcome to leave any bottles and cans for recycling.
For approved parties or large groups, we would appreciate it if you could take any excess rubbish home with you if possible.
There are extra rubbish bags located in the kitchen drawer.
General
Respect the wildlife.
Keep all external screen doors closed at all times to avoid unwanted bugs/critters from getting inside the house.
Children MUST be supervised at all times around the property. Especially around open water and open fire pits.
Please lock up and leave the keys inside when you depart.
Report any damages or maintenance issues immediately.
Guests are responsible for any damage caused during their stay.

Bedrooms/Sleeping Options
Nevaeh has 4 bedrooms accommodating up to 10 guests comfortably with additional pull-out mattresses available for approved families with children/teens.
For Baby: there is a portacot stored in the Bedroom 4 cupboard available for use.
Bed linen is provided on all beds including the sofa bed and portacot as standard. Linen is also available upon request for the 2 x floor mattresses if required.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you may need during your stay.
Plates, Cutlery, Glassware, Cooking Utensils, Basic Pantry & Cleaning Products are available.

First Aid/Medical Emergency

First Aid Kits:

Located in the Laundry on the bench top.

There is also a portable kit hanging on the coat rack in the living room.

Located in the pantry cupboard.

This is a basic kit provided for your convenience if required. Includes pain killers, antihistamine, cold & flu, sunscreen, insect repellant, anti-itch cream, Betadine and tick removal kit.

Please keep away from children and advise if any used items need replacement.

Fire blanket 1 is located in the kitchen drawer next to the cooktop

Water & Waste

The house water is supplied by rain and/or fresh creek water collected in water tanks. Water is precious and it's not a limitless supply.

Usage:
-
Please be mindful of your water usage and conserve water by taking short showers and avoiding unnecessary usage. Especially if you are staying with a large group or for a longer period.

Quality:
-
The filtered house water is of exceptional Christmas Creek quality and taste. Don't be afraid to drink it straight from the tap, it tastes way better than any town water and it's chemical free.

Hot Water:
-
There is a hot water temperature gauge on the wall in both bathrooms. This must be ON to get hot water. Press the ON button to turn on.
-
If the switch is on but there is no hot water, then the gas bottle must be empty. See instructions on how to change the gas bottle if required.

No Water:
-
If you run out of water, please contact Randall or Rachael to seek special instructions on how to refill the water tank if necessary.

Waste Water:
-
Our property utilises a Bio-cycle Wastewater System to treat household wastewater from sinks, showers, and toilets. This eco-friendly system transforms wastewater into a reusable resource, perfect for irrigating our lawns and gardens.

To ensure the system functions efficiently:

DO - flush toilet paper only down the toilets.
-
DON'T - do not dispose of non-biodegradable items, sanitary products, or chemicals in toilets or sinks.
-
Use only the provided eco-friendly cleaning products to help maintain the system’s effectiveness.

Things to do during your stay...
Open Fire's

Indoor Fireplace:

There is a wood fired combustion heater located in the lounge room for use.

We provide a limited amount of firewood for your stay during the cooler months.

Please use responsibly and supervise children around the fireplace at all times.

Keep the heater door closed at all times whilst in use.
-
First-Aid Kits contain minor burn treatment for use if needed.

Outdoor Fire Pit:

Use only the designated fire-pit provided.

BYO firewood. However we do provide a limited amount for short stays.

Do not cut or damage trees on the property.

Please use responsibly and supervise children around open fires at all times.

Ensure the fire is fully extinguished before leaving it unattended.

Adhere to fire bans and weather conditions.

First-Aid Kits contain minor burn treatment for use if needed.

Use at your own risk. We will not be responsible for any accidental damage or harm to any persons whilst using the fire pits.

Spa & Sauna

Spa Operation:
-
Maximum capacity is 5 people.
-
Use at your own risk.
-
Do not touch the Automatic Settings.
-
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
-
No jumping in or playing around the spa. It is for relaxation purposes only.
-
Ensure the cover is clipped on when not in use to maintain heat and security from young children.
-
Do not use glass containers in or around the spa. Use plastic cups provided.

Spa Cleaning:
-
Rinse off before entering to keep the water clean.
-
Add a teaspoon of chlorine (provided) each day of use to keep the spa clean.
-
Do NOT turn the spa off. Leave the auto setting on for the self cleaning mode.

Spa water level low (if or when required only):

Top up the water level using the hose connected to the outside tap under the deck on the front lawn.

Remember to conserve water.

Always set a timer on your phone as a reminder to turn the tap off.

Add a scoop of chlorine to top it up

Keep the lid closed to retain the heat.
-
Leave the Auto settings on.
-

Sauna Operation:

See Instructions for use on the sign next to the sauna.

Do not exceed the recommended duration of use 20 - 60 mins.

For hygiene purposes always use a towel to sit on or wear underpants/shorts.

Leave the door open when you get out to allow the steam to escape.
-
Not recommended for children under 16 years old.

Sauna Maintenance:

The Sauna will turn off automatically when the timer is set correctly.

Always use a towel to sit on when.
-
Keep the sauna clean and dry after use.

Creek/Swimming Holes

There are multiple access points along the creek via the walking tracks. See map provided.

There is a portable Hammock located in the Laundry on the shelf above the towels.We have provided some anchor points

Towels - Located in the Laundry on the shelf, there are coloured towels provided for outdoor use. (please do not use the white towels outside as they stain easily).

Hammock - Located in the Laundry above the towels, there is a hammock that you can take down to the creek to relax in. See map for the creekside anchor points to hang out in.

Be cautious of slippery rocks and swift currents.

Wear appropriate rubber soled shoes for safety and comfort.

Walking Tracks

Bush Safety/Hazards
While we don't want to alarm you, it's important for your personal safety to be aware of the natural environment around you and take a few simple precautions.

Snakes:
-
Be Alert. Snakes can be found in long grass and sunning themselves on rocks.
-
Stay Away. If you see a snake, keep your distance. They are generally more afraid of you and will move away when they sense your presence.
-
Snake Bite Kit. There is a snake bite kit in every first-aid kit located around the property. Refer to the Emergency Information section for details.

Ticks:
-
Environment - Ticks are most active between May - November. They tend to inhabit areas with tall grass, leaf litter, and shrubs.
-
Protect Yourself - Wear long sleeves, pants, and closed-toe shoes when walking in grassy or wooded areas. Use insect repellent containing DEET on exposed skin and clothing.
-
Protect your Dog - A good quality oral Tick prevention treatment like Bravecto/Simparica/Nexguard is highly recommended to administer before you arrive on the property.
-
Check for Ticks - After spending time outdoors, thoroughly check your body, clothing, and dog for ticks. Pay special attention to areas like underarms, behind the knees, around the ears, and along the hairline.
-
Remove Ticks Properly - There is a tick removal kit located in the Medicine Box. See package for directions. Use fine-tipped tweezers to grasp the tick as close to the skin's surface as possible. Pull upward with steady, even pressure. Do not twist or jerk the tick. After removal, clean the bite area and your hands with rubbing alcohol, an iodine scrub, or soap and water.

Monitor for Symptoms - Watch for signs of tick-borne illnesses such as rash, fever, or fatigue. Seek medical attention if you experience any symptoms after a tick bite.

BushFire Prevention:
-
Dispose Cigarette Butts Properly - Do not throw lit cigarette butts into the bush or grass areas.
-
Open fire - Use only the designated fire pits at all times.
-
Supervise Children - Please educate your kids as to the dangers of fire and the risk of hurting themselves and the environment by playing with it.
-
Dry Conditions - Adhere to fire bans and weather conditions.
-
In case of bushfire - CALL 000 to report a bushfire immediately in all cases.

General Precautions:
-
Stay Hydrated - Always carry water with you.
-
Footwear: Wear closed toe shoes at all times when outdoors. Preferably boots when hiking and/or shoes with rubber grip around the creek.
-
Stick to Trails - Avoid walking through long grassy areas and disturbing the wildlife.
-
Plan Your Route - Inform someone of your intended route and expected return time.
-
Communication - Always take a mobile phone with you in case of emergency. There is sporadic phone/internet service around the property. There are also walky-talky CB radios located in the Laundry you may use if needed. See instructions on the device for use.

Supervise Your Children - At all times. Especially around water, fire and wildlife. Take note of the locations for the first-aid kits and fire hoses.

Keep Gates Shut - If you open it, please shut it behind you. Even if it is only for a few minutes.
